What we do

Knowledge exchange as equals

We foster an exchange between academic and indigenous knowledge on plant medicine — supporting local initiatives in Peru and sharing that knowledge in Switzerland.

Documentation

We record traditional knowledge about Peruvian medicinal plants — their use, origin, and significance — and make it accessible.

Exchange

We bring together academic environmental-science knowledge and the local knowledge of indigenous communities, as equals and with mutual respect.

Support on the ground

We support local initiatives and projects for plant medicine in Peru, led by the communities themselves.

Our approach

Building knowledge

Members of our association have lived for several years in indigenous communities in Peru and worked with local traditional healers to develop reference literature on plant medicine.

On the ground

From plant to remedy

We follow how gathered medicinal plants become traditional preparations such as teas, salves and oils — and document that knowledge for future generations.
